  • Pope Leo XIV made the May 26 cover of Time. "Born in Chicago to a family with Italian, French, and Spanish roots, (Robert Francis) Prevost, 69, will be the first Pope from the U.S. the Catholic Church has ever seen, and only the second Pope from the Americas, after Francis who was from Argentina." The Pope holds Peruvian citizenship which he claimed as a missionary in his years serving the Latin American country.
